EVERETT, DEC. 2: Cold weather shelters have already begun to open as temperatures drop below 34 degrees Fahrenheit across Snohomish County.
The seven shelters open whenever temperatures are forecast to be 34 degrees or below. Libraries and senior centers will also serve as warming centers during the day, within their normal hours of operation.
The Snohomish County Public Safety Hub provides daily updates on daytime and overnight shelters.
Community Transit and Everett Transit will provide free transportation to cold-weather shelters, Snohomish County Human Services said in a press release.
Last winter, Snohomish County’s cold weather shelters provided 6,468 bed nights, with the busiest night occurring on Feb. 16, when 260 individuals received shelter, the release said.

- Serves families with minor children only
