EVERETT, DEC. 17: Proceeds from a two-day holiday festival at Lucky Dime in Everett will support Evergreen State Fairgrounds emergency stabling efforts after severe flooding forced animals and owners to evacuate across Snohomish County.
The festival, Frostb!te Frenzy 2 is a weekend holiday benefit festival with music and festive activities. The proceeds initially were to be given to local nonprofit Bunker Arts Collective (BAC).
BAC Executive Director Evan Reed felt the animals and families impacted by the flood needed it more.
“It is not often we have a tragedy sweep through our community…we ultimately concluded that there were more important purposes that the money could be put towards,” Reed said.
BAC is a community volunteer program based out of Everett that works to combat vandalism and blight. They also host meetups to collect garbage around the city.
“Everyone’s attention kind of shifted after the flooding happened and the clear move was staying hyperlocal and helping out,” Lucky Dime owner and operator Alex Vincini said.
The festival, presented by Frontl!ne is from Friday, Dec. 19 to Saturday, Dec. 20. Tickets range from $15 to $20 depending on which day you go. Day one begins with local musicians and a dance party. Day two continues with a full day of rock ‘n’ roll.
Reed said that he wanted to help give livestock owners peace of mind that their animals were safe during the uncertainty of the ongoing floods. The Evergreen State Fair Park has been offering free emergency stabling in addition to shelter for families who evacuated due to severe flooding that began last week.
Through BAC, Reed will spend the next weeks redirecting cleanup efforts for flood relief. He calls on those who need assistance to reach out to BAC on their website.
“We just want to make sure our neighbors are feeling heard, seen and safe,” Reed said.
According to Gov. Ferguson’s office, as many as 100,000 people have been under evacuation orders at various times since the atmospheric river swept through Washington.
The Red Cross has set up several emergency shelters, one being at the fairgrounds. The shelters offer meals, first aid, charging stations, and more.
“I think people should take as much direct action as they can. If you hear something, do something. Make our community a better place, a safer place, a warmer place,” Vincini said.
The Fair Park is accepting the following donations:
- Animal bedding and shavings: shavings, pine or fir (No Cedar)
- Contact the Monroe Co-Op (360)794-4663 or the Snohomish Co-Op (360)568-2104 to purchase bedding or shavings. Or you can purchase from your choice of stores and deliver to the Evergreen State Fair Park.

- Donate to the Red Cross
