EVERETT, DEC. 26: Ready…Set… Launch!
That’s the name of the newest exhibit at Imagine Children’s Museum, designed to spark creativity and hands-on learning through paper airplanes and curated obstacles.
The interactive airplane launcher exhibit was made possible in part through a $50,000 gift from the Employees Community Fund (ECF) of Boeing-Puget Sound Chapter.
The ECF Puget Sound Chapter funds local nonprofits that help thousands of families and individuals in the Puget Sound region, where Boeing employees live and work.
“The partnership between Boeing, the ECF Puget Sound Chapter, and Imagine Children’s Museum reflects a shared commitment to strengthening communities through accessible, hands-on learning opportunities that nurture curiosity, creativity, and connection,” Imagine Children’s Museum said in a press release.
Ready… Set… Launch! invites children to create their best paper airplane and launch it through a series of obstacles. The exhibit encourages experimentation and imaginative play while fostering family connection and creativity, according to the press release.
The exhibit is part of the newly updated Engineer It! area, which also features hands-on experiences such as the Gear Wall and the Earthquake Table.
To celebrate the exhibit’s opening, Boeing employees and funders of the ECF of Boeing – Puget Sound Chapter joined museum staff on-site to experience the exhibit firsthand. Employees and children explored the space together, engaging in playful learning.
“Witnessing the joy and wonder on the faces of children as they engage with the Engineer It! exhibit is a reminder of why we invest in our communities. This partnership with Imagine Children’s Museum is not just about fostering innovation; it’s about building memories and inspiring the next generation of dreamers,” Katrina White, Boeing ECF Puget Sound Chapter president, said.
Imagine Children’s Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Boeing employees and up to three guests, provided a child 12 or under is present, can access the museum free of charge on Monday, Dec. 29 and Tuesday, Dec. 30 by showing their Boeing badge at admissions.
