Volunteers in Everett are encouraged to spend an hour or two ‘spring cleaning’ to keep the city looking sharp for summer. Tomorrow, May 30, Rubatino Refuse Removal Inc., Everett Public Schools, The City of Everett, and Everett neighborhood associations urge residents and neighbors to pitch in by collecting litter and debris from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the annual Clean Everett Day
It also includes a ‘free dumpster day’ tomorrow to toss out some larger item that won’t fit in the curbside garbage bin.
Residents are allowed to drop off unwanted items for disposal at one of four collection locations:
- Cascade High School – 801 E Casino Rd. Everett, WA 98203
- Lowell Elementary School – 5010 View Dr. Everett, WA 98203
- North Middle School – 2514 Rainier Ave. Everett, WA 98201
- Sequoia High School – 3516 Rucker Ave. Everett, WA 98201
‘Free dumpster day’ does have some restrictions for what can be thrown out. Appliances, some electronic devices, large furniture–like sectionals or couches–and paint of any kind are not allowed. For a complete list of items that are NOT accepted, click here.
Residents can also organize their own neighborhood cleanups, join an existing effort or volunteer at one of the four collection sites listed above. You can arrive at one of the schools to pitch-in and help spruce up Everett’s neighborhoods.
Volunteers ages 15 and older are still needed to support cleanup activities, including assisting teams with trash disposal and helping monitor collection locations. Volunteering can be a great way for high school students to knock a few hours off their volunteer service hours required for graduation.
