GREENVILLE, North Carolina — The Snohomish Girls Little League Softball team avoided elimination in the tournament losers’ bracket with a 7-3 comeback win over Helotes, Texas today, after trailing 2-1 to start. Snohomish, representing the Northwest region in the international tournament featuring teams from Italy, Japan, Puerto Rico and Canada, lost their previous game, Sunday, putting them into the loser’s bracket of the double-elimination tournament.

The Snohomish U-12 squad fell behind after the first inning, 2-1, but swiped the lead back with 2 runs in the top of the 5th. Snohomish tacked on 4 runs in the top of the 6th inning and then surrendered one run in the bottom of the 6th for the final 7-3 score. Regulation LLWS girls games play 6 innings. Boys LLWS play 7 inning games.

Snohomish will play the winner of tonight’s 7 p.m. game between the Bologna, Italy and the Repentigny, Quebec, Canada. That game is set for Wednesday, August 5 at 10 a.m. PDT and the game will be televised on ESPN2.

Twelve teams will compete for a spot in the championship game, to be held Sunday, August 9, 2026.
