EVERETT — Painting has started on what will be the largest mural in the city, tucked underneath the roaring freeway lanes of I-5 at Pacific Avenue, expected to be 150-feet long when its completed.
The EverettPost.com first reported on plans for this mural in July and how the idea came about from three Everett business leaders. The mural’s origin story is to be a “feel good” guide post for Everett to remind people about the robust waterfront in the city. It depicts a large octopus in tribute to the Everett waterfront and Possession Sound’s aquatic inhabitants.
Stay tuned for more updates on the mural’s progress as completion is expected in the next two weeks.
This mural at Pacific Avenue and Colby Avenue in Everett also depicts the upper half of the Everett waterfront as a promotion for the Imagine Children’s Museum located at 1502 Wall Street.
