EVERETT, JULY 25: The Port of Everett invites the community to celebrate its longtime summer tradition at the waterfront for its 10th annual Sail-in Cinema event.
Every Friday starting July 25, enjoy free, family-friendly activities, concessions and movies at Boxcar Park. Whether you sail or walk in, be sure to get there early for seats on the lawn and stay late for special guests.
Sail-in Cinema schedule:
- July 25, 9:20 p.m. – “13 Going on 30” (PG-13) Learn the iconic “Thriller” dance with a tutorial from Seattle Thrillers and The Dance School
- August 1, 9:10 p.m. – “Million Dollar Arm” (PG) with a guest appearance by Webbly from the Everett Aquasox
- August 8, 9 p.m. – “The Finest Hours” (PG-13) with guests from Maritime Institute Everett to provide information on maritime careers
- August 15, 8:50 p.m. – “The Wild Robot” (PG) with a visit from the 2025 World Champion Robotics team from Everett’s Jackson High School
- August 22, 8:35 p.m. – “Cars” (G) – Enjoy cars from the Pacific Northwest DeLorean Club and other local car clubs
Screenings will start after sunset, though visitors can enjoy yard games, free popcorn, and other concessions for sale an hour beforehand.
For the first time since 2016, Sail-in Cinema will have special guests before and after the show. Learn from Seattle and Everett-based dance teams, discover what it’s like working on the water and see some antique cars from local car clubs.
To guarantee seats, the Port recommends taking advantage of the lawn, setting up blankets and low-back chairs.
For guests planning on boating to the park, space on the docks is first come first served. You can also make a reservation on DockWA.
Be mindful of the weather and bring extra layers or blankets as the waterfront can get cold at night. In the event of severe weather, the night’s activities may be cancelled.
