EVERETT, FEB. 2: The Everett Animal Shelter (EAS) has been awarded a total of $75 thousand in grants from three foundations. Grants and donations will be used to support shelter operations.
Petco Love, a national nonprofit helping pets find homes, awarded EAS a donation of $15,000 for disaster relief.
Additionally, EAS was awarded a grant from Best Friends Animal Society of $40,000. The funds will be used to help fund the behavior and enrichment program at EAS in 2026.
The animal society agreement allows the shelter to use funds for conducting dog-owner training, volunteer training, and outreach events.
EAS was also awarded $20,000 from Judith and Stanley Hoffberger Family Foundation, a private family foundation in Florida.
The Fund for the Animals (Fund 151) is a cumulative reserve fund that benefits animals in the city. All gifts to the city in excess of $10,000 must be approved by the city council.
The Everett City Council approved all donations during last week’s council meeting.
