EVERETT, AUG 14: The City of Everett is asking residents to complete a short survey on a new playground for Garfield Park.
The 19-year-old playground is due for a remodel, according to the city. The focus will be on the playground alone, leaving the rest of the park unchanged. Renovations will begin Spring 2026.
Changes include removing the current wood fiber surfacing, replacing worn out material, and adding new playground structures.
The survey allows residents to share what they think of different features, themes, and surfacing and is open until Friday, Aug. 15.
The goal of this project is to make the park a “safer, more enjoyable and inclusive play space,” according to the city.
Everett has adopted a practice of replacing playground equipment every 15 years.
This project will be funded by the city’s capital improvement budget and is still in the planning phase.
