EVERETT, NOV. 19: The annual Stuff a Bus campaign is kicking off its holiday drive, collecting donations that will support families in need throughout Snohomish County.
Everett Transit and Volunteers of America Western Washington (VOAWW) are teaming up for three weekends in November and December to gather donations, Everett Transit said in a press release. Donations accepted include food, toys, clothing, electronics and more.
VOAWW and the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 883 will be accepting donations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. outside the Fred Meyer at Murphy’s Corner, 12906 Bothell-Everett Highway. Volunteers will be outside the weekends of Nov. 29-30, Dec. 6-7 and Dec. 13-14.
“Each year, hundreds of local families experience holiday joy thanks to the generosity of our community,” CEO of VOAWW Brian Smith said. “I’d like to thank our Snohomish County neighbors and Everett Transit for having VOAWW be a part of this amazing event each year.”
Last year, the Stuff a Bus drive brought in 9,026 lbs. of food and 2,024 lbs. of non-food items. Donors contributed 3,025 gifts, valued at about $33,370, the press release said.
Everett Transit and Everett Fire will also be collecting non-perishable food items and toy donations at the City of Everett Wintertide event, Friday, Nov. 28.
