EVERETT, OCT. 8: The Schack Art Center will celebrate 50 years in Snohomish County with special exhibitions and events all this week.
The 50 Years – Celebrating Our Journey Exhibition kicks off Thursday, Oct. 10. The exhibition offers a unique glimpse into the history of the Schack Art Center, highlighting key milestones, artists of the year, and stories that have shaped the local art community over the last half-century.

Throughout the weekend the Schack Art Center will hold multiple small events to participate in.
Open studios and art activities, Saturday, Oct. 12 | 12-4 p.m.
Studio 1– Maren Oates/Gel Printing
Printmaking Studio- Saman Shojaei/ Linocut Printing
Silversmithing Studio-Bonnie Aubuchon/Jewlery Making
The public is also free to observe a Flame and Kiln class from 12-6 p.m.
There will also be an art unveiling and dedication by Tulalip Tribes member, James Madison from 1-3 p.m. on Oct. 12. Madison will unveil a new public sculpture that will celebrate traditional storytelling and the oral history of the Coast Salish people, emphasizing their connection to the legend of the Sasquatch in the Pacific Northwest.

There are two classes that the public can observe, one being a Flame and Kiln class from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and a paint and draw class from 1-6 p.m.
