EVERETT — Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and that will serve as a summer-long, Thursday night theme for the return of Everett’s “Music at The Marina” concert series starting Thursday.
The popularity of bands like The Eagles, Queen, and Fleetwood Mac don’t just endure 40 and 50 years after their respective heights of popularity but their song catalogue lends itself to singing along which is a big reason music fans go to concerts in the first place. You usually know all the lyrics by heart. Music at The Marina will feature tribute bands for those three legendary groups, July 23 – The Little Lies (Fleetwood Mac tribute band), August 13 – Victims of Love (The Eagles tribute band), and August 27 – Queen Mother (Queen tribute band).
Here’s a video clip of The Little Lies cranking out “Tusk”.
Genre’s like R&B funk, 1980s new wave and of course, for the backdrop of the marina, the ever-applicable ‘yacht rock’ tribute bands will also perform at the waterfront, July 9 – Nite Wave (’80s), July 30 – Moxie (funk R&B), and August 6 – Point of Sail (yacht rock).

Music at the Marina has become one of Everett’s most beloved summertime traditions. It brings thousands to the waterfront every year for free live music. Along with the familiar tunes, it features food trucks for the hungry and a beer garden for the thirsty.
However, contributions are needed to keep the music going.
Both the City of Everett and the Port of Everett provide important support, but more than 80% of the event is made possible by sponsorships and donations from the community.
This summer vibes event is produced by the Everett Music Initiative, a private, non-profit that asks for music fan support.
The Everett Music Initiative is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so all donations are tax-deductible. Contributions go directly toward producing these events. Whether you have an active Family Foundation, a Family Trust or just the means to give a substantial, meaningful contribution, Everett Music Initiative is the perfect place to help out and keep Music at the Marina going.
The funds raised go to support safety and crowd infrastructure, ADA access improvements, enhanced sound and production, and essential event services needed as the event grows to make sure all are able to attend. Funds will also go to keeping it safe, accessible, and sustainable for the long term, according to EMI.
