NORTH SOUND — Dry and benign weather to start November will shift to heavy rain next week according to weather forecasters calling for an atmospheric river of Pineapple Express dimensions to drench the Puget Sound and British Columbia. The soaking weather system is expected to plow its way through impacting Western Washington and the Cascades from Tuesday to Thursday next week.
Get ready to start seeing these maps more often. An atmospheric river is on the way to the northern parts of Western Washington. Don’t like the terminology? I suggest you unfollow because I’m not slowing it down.😜#wawx https://t.co/h2UTMZPe7D

The National Weather Service says “several inches of precipitation are possible in some areas that could lead to flooding” but the storm is so vast the NWS forecasting the impact from Northern California to British Columbia. So, consider taking precautions early next week as the localized forecast becomes more specific. Mountain snow at higher elevations is also part of this storm forecast, but the NWS didn’t offer any approximate freezing levels to delineate if Stevens Pass or Snoqualmie Pass travel will be impacted. High coastal winds will also pack a punch when the weather system reaches Washington.
