EVERETT, MAY 1: The City of Everett will hold an open house to answer questions regarding proposed updates to the Everett 2044 Comprehensive Plan Update.

The Comprehensive Plan is a policy document that will guide the growth of the city of Everett up until the year 2044. At this stage, the public is encouraged to provide feedback on the draft plan. The open house will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 8 at the Carl Gipson Center, 3025 Lombard Ave.

Everett is expecting and planning for an increased population growth of 65,000 by 2044. To accommodate the new residents, 36,500 dwellings will be needed according to the draft plan. The comment period runs through Monday, May 26.
