EVERETT, MARCH 18: This month the Everett Public Library will host its third annual Spring Seed Share where local gardeners are invited to share and take seeds in preparation for gardening season.
“All community members are welcome to kick-start their spring garden planning by visiting the seed share. The library offers many varieties of donated seeds for free,” the Everett Public Library said in a press release.
You can share or take seeds, seedlings and bulbs. The event is from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at the Main Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave.
The annual event is hosted by the Un-Bee-Leaf-Able Seed Library. Last year they distributed more than 600 seed packets to local gardens and gardeners.
Anyone can donate seeds to the collection and those who take seeds are encouraged to donate back to the library when their plants produce seeds.
You can access the Un-Bee-Leaf-Able Seed Library on the second floor of the Main Library. They also have a new satellite location at the Evergreen Branch, 9512 Evergreen Way.
“In 2025, we hope to broaden our reach even further to encourage a community culture of embracing biodiversity and sustainability through sharing seed, cultivating food and flowers, and harvesting and preserving food in local gardens,” the library said.
