EVERETT, NOV 13: – Imagine Children’s Museum hosted a Veterans Day Weekend with hands-on activities designed to honor local veterans. Families participated in three stations, each fostering a connection between young visitors and the community.
One activity called the Courage Chain invited children to share personal acts of bravery, creating a visual display. Some of the messages included:
• “I helped my neighbor with their garden even though I’m scared of bugs.”
• “I stood up to a bully when my friend was hurt.”
• “When I moved to a new country with no friends or family, that was brave of me.”
Imagine Children’s Museum has been part of the Everett community for 30 years. The Museum “Fosters creativity and curiosity through its hands-on exhibits, educational programming and commitment to playful learning.”
Alongside the chain, children also had the chance to write letters of gratitude at the Letter-Writing Station. These thoughtful notes will be delivered to local veterans’ organizations, allowing kids to express appreciation directly to those who have served.
The third activity, the Dove Mobile Craft, encouraged families to create symbolic doves representing peace and unity, which will also be shared with a veterans’ group in the community.
“Our goal was to provide a space where children and families could reflect on the importance of bravery and honor the sacrifices of veterans in a meaningful way,” said Quinn Schell, Chief Experience Officer at Imagine. “It was a wonderful experience that fostered opportunities to build character and join together as a community with a common goal of supporting each other as well as those who serve our country.”
