EVERETT, AUG. 1: The public is invited to provide input on the latest round of study for the Link Light Rail extension to Everett.
The online survey will be open until Thursday, Aug 28. This specific survey is part of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) scoping.
The Everett Link Extension project will add 16 miles of light rail and six Snohomish County stations to the growing Link light rail network. The project will connect the communities of Lynnwood, unincorporated Snohomish County, and Everett.
For this specific survey, Sound Transit is asking for the public to comment on the purpose and need of the extension. They are also looking for potential topics to be studied for the Draft Enviromental Impact Statement (EIS).
Feedback received during the comment period will be shared with decision-makers to help prepare EIS in coordination with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).
NEPA scoping is a collaborative effort between the public, Tribes, and local, state, and federal agencies to determine what issues and alternatives will be included in the EIS.
The Draft EIS will describe how the alternatives might affect the natural and built environments during both construction and future operations.
