EVERETT, FEB. 12: The Everett Fire Marshal’s Office has confirmed that the second victim of the RV fire that occurred on Friday, Feb. 7, has tragically passed away.

The female victim, in her late 30s, succumbed to her injuries the following day at Harborview Hospital, Everett Fire said in a press release.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death, as well as confirm the victim’s identity.

Just after 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 7 Everett Fire with the assistance of South County and Mukilteo Fire, responded to an RV fire in the 11100 block of Paine Field Way.

Before the fire department arrived, a crew with Snohomish County PUD happened to be in the area for an unrelated job when they noticed the RV fire. Two PUD employees reached into the burning RV to rescue one victim.

The victim they rescued was the adult female in her late 30s who succumbed to her injuries on Saturday, Feb. 8.

South County Fire’s Engine 11 was the first unit on the scene and found a fully involved RV fire. At this time, they learned that another victim was in the RV.

Fire crews located an adult male in the RV and attempted life-saving measures. Unfortunately, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The two PUD workers were evaluated at the scene for smoke inhalation but were not transported to the hospital.

Firefighters reported having the fire extinguished within five minutes of the first unit arriving.

The origin and cause of the fire are still under investigation by the Everett Fire Marshal’s Office, while the Everett Police Department is handling the death investigation, which is standard procedure. Preliminary findings do not suggest any criminal activity related to the cause of the fire.
