Congratulations to the KRKO Russell and Hill Female Student Athlete for May 2026; senior Kiera Tupua of the Lake Stevens High School Track & Field team.
Kiera Tupua will depart Lake Stevens High School with a couple of boxes full of playoff appearances, medals, and state championships. In the spring, Tupua helped lead the Vikings’ track and field team to a second place finish at the state track meet in Tacoma. She won the State 4A Championship in the shot put (41’6.5”) and finished second in the discus (behind her teammate Dara Olotu). She also placed in those events in 2024 and 2025. In the winter, Kiera was named Wesco 4A League MVP and averaged 16.3 ppg; leading the Vikings to a 12-0 regular season record; and a spot in the state quarterfinals and a 55-48 win over Bothell at The Tacoma Dome. She was selected to play in the WSGBCA All-State Game. In the fall, on the soccer pitch, Kiera was named Wesco 4A Offensive Player of the Year; the Vikings reached the state opening round. The previous season (2024) Lake Stevens won the State 4A Girls Soccer Championship with a 1-0 win over Woodinville and finished 19-1-2.
Kiera plans to major in business at Central Washington University and play Women’s Soccer and compete in Track & Field. Head girls soccer coach at Lake Stevens is Sam Ford; girls basketball coach is Seth Dodge; track & field coaches are Tammy Bowers and Nick Page. Athletic Directors are Jason Pearson and Scott Sifferman.
