KRKO Russell and Hill Female Student Athlete-April 2026-Oluwadarasimi Olotu-Lake Stevens High School Track & Field

Our KRKO Russell and Hill Female Student Athlete for April 2026 is senior Oluwadarasimi (Dara) Olotu of the Lake Stevens High School Track & Field Team. At the state track meet at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma, Dara won the 4A Discus State Championship with a throw of 137’3” (defeating her Lake Stevens teammate Keira Tupua by nearly 7 feet). She also finished 4th in the shot put (coincidentally, Keira Tupua won that event). The Lake Stevens Girls finished second as a team at the state meet. KRKO Russell and Hill Male Student Athlete-April 2026-Jack Rotondo-Snohomish High School Track & Field

At the state track meet at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma, Rotondo won the 3A High Jump State Championship with a jump of 6’10”. Having already clinched the state title, he took his final three attempts at 7 feet even. But didn’t clear the bar. Rotondo cleared 6-4 in both his freshman and sophomore state meets to finish sixth and fourth, respectively. A fifth-generation Panther, Jack is a three-sports athlete, excelling on the football field and the basketball court. KRKO Russell and Hill Male Student Athlete-March 2026-Avery Touchette-Lake Stevens Vikings Track & Field

At the state track meet at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma, Avery Touchette won the State Championship in the Ambulatory 100 meter dash (13.37) and finished second in the 200m and 400m races. Avery was born with hemiplegic cerebral palsy which affects the left side of his body and his balance. The state championship capped off his first high school track season. KRKO Russell and Hill Female Student Athlete-March 2026-Sienna Capelli-Snohomish Panthers Girls Basketball

Sienna Capelli led Snohomish to the 3A State Semifinals averaging 19.9 ppg with 8.5 rebounds per game. The Panthers entered the state tournament as the number two seed and defeated Stanwood in overtime on the second day at the Tacoma Dome. Snohomish lost to eventual state champions Eastside Catholic in the semis and lost to Roosevelt on Saturday to secure the 5th place trophy. In the overtime win over Stanwood, Sienna scored 30 of the Panthers’ 41 points; gathered 10 rebounds, had three blocked shots, three steals and three assists. KRKO Russell and Hill Male Student Athlete-February 2026-Carmelo LaRocca-Edmonds-Woodway Wrestling

An outstanding multi-sport athlete, Carmelo won the 2026 3A State Wrestling 190 pound Championship at the 2026 Mat Classic at the Tacoma Dome. He won the state title by defeating Shorewood’s Lukas Probizanski 10-6, a wrestler he had previously gone 1-3 against during the regular season. LaRocca didn’t even start wrestling until his sophomore; instead played football. He qualified for the state tournament as a sophomore; placed seventh last year and ended his high school career with a state championship. Carmelo carries a 3.65 GPA and has fielded several offers to continue his football career at the collegiate level.... Read More.

KRKO Russell and Hill Female Student Athlete-February 2026-Kaleo Anderson-King’s High School Girls Basketball

Kaleo culminated her stellar King’s basketball career leading the Knights to a second place finish in this year’s Class 1A State Basketball Tournament at the Yakima Valley Sundome. She ended her career with record-setting points (2,000), rebounds (1,000); plus, assists, rebounds and blocked shots. King’s also finished second in state last year. Kaleo was a three-time Emerald Sound Conference MVP. After fielding multiple college basketball offers, Anderson chose Virginia Tech to continue her athletic and academic career.
