Our KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete for September 2025 is Xander Gordon, Shorewood Boys Tennis.
Xander recently won the 3A District One Singles Championship and qualified for the 3A State Tennis Tournament which will be held in May 2026 in Vancouver. He has qualified for state for the 3rd straight season and helped Shorewood win three straight District One team championships. In total, 6 Shorewood tennis players will be heading to state for the 2nd straight year.
Gordon played state doubles two straight years with partner Peter Kosten, taking 5th in 2025 and 8th in 2024. In non-high school events, he won the Shoreline Slam Gold Division Singles last year; placed 2nd in Snohomish Smash mixed doubles; placed 2nd in Shoreline Slam in mixed doubles. As well as other regional and national tennis tournaments.
“Outside of school, I love tutoring and helping others learn. I hope to pursue computer science in college while also continuing to play tennis. My grandma is still playing tennis even in her 80s and I hope I can stay in shape like her and continue playing tennis for as long as I can.”
Xander has dual citizenship and plans to attend college in either the United States or Canada. He carries a 3.97 GPA.
