EVERETT — August primary voters are propelling an extension of an Everett city Emergency Medical Services (EMS) levy to passage but a $382 million hospital bond in Monroe is falling short of a necessary 60% approval to pass.
The $382 million bond levy for a new hospital opens with 55.39% “yes” support after the first release tonight of 19,701 votes. The bond requires a 60% ‘yes’ vote to pass.
The EvergreenHealth Monroe bond measure would authorize the hospital district to issue no more than $382 million in bonds to construct, equip and support a replacement hospital and related health care facilities on the EvergreenHealth Monroe campus.
EvergreenHealth Monroe is operated by Snohomish County Public Hospital District No. 1 and spans eastern Snohomish County, encompassing greater Monroe, the outskirts of Maltby and Snohomish along with rural communities in the Skykomish River valley.
The Everett EMS levy garnered a commanding 74.88% ‘yes’ vote on the opening tally of 11,426 votes.
As of 8:30 p.m. Pacific time, statewide results for four State Supreme Court Justice elections were not available from the office of Secretary of State, Steve Hobbs.
