EVERETT — A trio of armed robbery suspects who allegedly broke into a South Everett apartment unit and attacked a woman at gunpoint have been arrested with the assistance of license plate reader cameras, Everett Police say.
The female victim, according to a police report, stated three suspects had forced their way into her home and robbed her at gun point, stealing numerous items. She sustained injuries during the altercation. The suspects were not located that day, but some were identified using LPR cameras. The Violent Crime Unit (VCU) and Anti-Crime Team (ACT) located all three suspects in a neighboring city and arrested them. The suspects were booked into jail on numerous charges including Robbery 1, Assault 1, Burglary 1, and Theft 1. As of this writing, only a portion of the victim’s property has been recovered.
In other cases from the last week, on Friday Oct. 23, Everett police and fire located an idling car after 911 calls reported a female slumped over in a vehicle at 41st Street and Rucker Ave. Arriving officers found the car stopped, in drive, in the left northbound turn lane. After repeated efforts to rouse the driver, officers positioned their patrol cars to block the vehicle. One of the vehicle’s windows was broken to gain access to the inside. The driver was arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail for DUI.
A witness spotted three juveniles, described as being in their late teens, spray-painting a fence in South Everett. When an officer arrived on scene, she located three males matching the witness descriptions with spray paint in their pockets. All three suspects scattered and ran when contacted by police, but two were ultimately detained. Booking into Denny Juvenile Justice Center was denied for both suspects. Their parents were notified, and charges have been referred for Malicious Mischief 3.
South patrol responded to a collision near Silver Lake. Witnesses saw a vehicle which had crashed into a building. Upon arrival, officers established probable cause to arrest the driver for DUI. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for DUI.
Everett Police report these previous cases are not a complete list of incidents within the city but want to provide a snapshot of recent crimes and the subsequent investigations. For the last week, EPD arrested 75 suspects and issued 178 traffic citations.
