EVERETT — Painting a massive mural depicting an octopus and its curving tentacles is almost complete underneath the I-5 overpass at Pacific Avenue.

The 150-foot mural was the brainchild of Everett native and businessman, CJ Ebert, who envisioned a gateway project to welcome drivers to the city as the exit I-5, reminding both visitors and locals of the sights and activities at the waterfront and downtown. Ebert developed the expansive opportunity with colleagues Alan Mizuta and Sean Kennedy who canvassed the business community to help fund the project privately.

EverettPost.com first wrote about the project combining art, ocean and ingenuity in July.
