EVERETT, Wash. — The Everett Silvertips had two players earn Western Hockey League monthly accolades, as defenseman Landon DuPont was named Rookie of the Month while Raiden LeGall was named Goaltender of the Month.
DuPont, an ’09-born Calgary, AB native, skated in nine games on the Everett blueline in December, racking up five goals and 11 assists with a +4 defensive rating and 25 shots on goal. He registered six multi-point performances, while only being held off the statsheet once. He was awarded WHL Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 30 and enters into the calendar year 2025 riding a six-game point streak. DuPont leads all WHL rookies in scoring with 40 points in 32 games played and leads in plus- minus at +23. Amongst all WHL defenseman he is second in points behind only Portland overager Tyson Jugnauth and fifth in plus-minus. DuPont came to the Silvertips with the number one draft pick after he was granted “Exceptional Player Status” by The Canadian Hockey League, only the second WHL player to receive that recognition (Connor Bedard was the first, he is currently a member of the Chicago Blackhawks).
LeGall, an ’06-born Morden, MB native, posted a 4-1-0 record in December with a .948 save percentage and a 1.41 goals-against average. In his five appearances, LeGall was only beaten for more than one goal in one game. His finest performance came on Dec. 8, posting a 29-save shutout of the Wenatchee Wild at the Town Toyota Center to spoil their Teddy Bear Toss night. On Dec. 14, he stopped a season-high 30 of 31 shots in a 4-1 win over the Tri-City Americans. The 6-foot-0 Bemidji State University commit is 6-1-0 on the season with a 1.43 goals-against average and a .946 save percentage. He signed with the Everett Silvertips on Nov. 19 from the Niverville Nighthawks of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
The Silvertips are currently 28-5-2-1 for 59 points; which is 12 points better than any other team in the Western Hockey League. They are ranked #2 in the entire Canadian Hockey League system. Everett has enjoyed the third-best start in league history.
