EVERETT, OCT. 20: More than 4,000 people gathered Saturday for the nationwide “No Kings” protest at the Snohomish County Campus Plaza in Everett.
Organized by Snohomish County Indivisible, the demonstration was from noon to 4 p.m., beginning at the Plaza and ending on the sidewalks of Broadway Ave.

There were roughly 2,700 “No Kings” events nationwide with roughly 7 million people participating, organizers said. Demonstrators criticized President Trump and his administration for what they call authoritarian actions and politics.
“The president thinks his rule is absolute, but in America, we don’t have kings, and we won’t back down to chaos, corruption, and cruelty. The ‘No Kings’ mobilization is a growing response to President Trump’s overreach into the daily life of Americans,” Snohomish County Indivisible said in a press release.

Local elected officials spoke at the event including Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin, Councilmember Paula Rhyne, State Representative and Everett Councilmember Mary Fosse, and County Councilmember Megan Dunn.
Congressional Republicans have claimed that the demonstrations were “anti-American,” and would draw in “pro-Hamas” and “Antifa” members.
Governor Bob Ferguson attended and spoke about defending democracy and protecting healthcare.
“We will never, ever, under any circumstances, bend a knee to this autocrat,” Ferguson said.
Some participants showed up in inflatable costumes, others holding American flags, many waiving signs.
