EVERETT — Snohomish County voters are being alerted that a typo on the return envelopes for the Nov. 3 general election ballot will not compromise the accurate tabulation of their ballot in November’s election. The general election ballot that voters complete with an ink marking to signify their election choice is error free, but the return envelope that voters stuff their completed ballot into mis-spells the word “General”. The typo is “Genereal”.

After the typo was discovered, the Auditor’s Office posted on Facebook, “We want to make voters aware of a spelling error on ballot return envelopes included in ballot packets for the November 3 General Election. You may notice that the word “General” is misspelled on your ballot return envelope. This is a printing error only. Your ballot is still valid, and this typo does not affect how your ballot is processed or how your signature is verified. You can complete and return your ballot as usual.”
The message proceeded to add, “We have corrected the information for any additional ballot packets mailed for this election and are reviewing our procedures to help prevent similar errors in the future. We take our responsibility to provide accurate election materials seriously. Thank you to the community members who brought this to our attention and to all our voters for your understanding.”
