KRKO Russell and Hill Female Student Athlete-February 2026-Kaleo Anderson-King’s High School Girls Basketball

Kaleo culminated her stellar King’s basketball career leading the Knights to a second place finish in this year’s Class 1A State Basketball Tournament at the Yakima Valley Sundome. She ended her career with record-setting points (2,000), rebounds (1,000); plus, assists, rebounds and blocked shots. King’s also finished second in state last year. Kaleo was a three-time Emerald Sound Conference MVP. After fielding multiple college basketball offers, Anderson chose Virginia Tech to continue her athletic and academic career. Odin Schwabenbauer didn’t just win the 2026 3A state wrestling championship at 285 lbs for the Snohomish Panthers. It was the fact that he did it in such a dominant fashion. Odin had gone 46-0 in his matches up to the state title bout at the Tacoma Dome; his 47th win; over the #2 seed from Shelton; handed him the championship. At the state tournament, Schwabenbauer’s path to the title was: Pin, Pin, 10-1 decision in the quarters; 17-0 tech fall in the semis; culminating with a pin at 3:37. An outstanding multi-sport athlete, Luscher took time out from her development as one of the area’s premier softball players, to lend her talents to the newly formed sport of Girl’s Flag Football. After starting 1-9, the Seagulls finished the regular season by winning five of their final six games; with Luscher playing quarterback. Everett entered the Northwest District Tournament as the #3 seed. The Gulls lost in the first round to Monroe 37-28, before defeating Ferndale 51-7 in loser’s bracket game.
