Finally, we hear from Tynan Vincent, head golf coach at Jackson High School with a preview of the Wesco 4A League Tournament.

First, from the Wesco 3A North, we meet the Snohomish Panthers Baseball team with Head Coach Nick Hammons and players Landon Klein, Luke Davis and Reve LeRoux. From the Wesco 3A South, it's the Meadowdale Mavericks with head coach Darren Watkins, assistant coach Rob Pugmire and players Nash Echelbarger, Carson Bishop and Kealloha Kepo'o-Sabate.

Odin Schwabenbauer didn’t just win the 2026 3A state wrestling championship at 285 lbs for the Snohomish Panthers. It was the fact that he did it in such a dominant fashion. Odin had gone 46-0 in his matches up to the state title bout at the Tacoma Dome; his 47th win; over the #2 seed from Shelton; handed him the championship. At the state tournament, Schwabenbauer’s path to the title was: Pin, Pin, 10-1 decision in the quarters; 17-0 tech fall in the semis; culminating with a pin at 3:37. KRKO Russell and Hill Female Student Athlete-January 2026-Anna Luscher-Everett Seagulls Flag Football

An outstanding multi-sport athlete, Luscher took time out from her development as one of the area’s premier softball players, to lend her talents to the newly formed sport of Girl’s Flag Football. After starting 1-9, the Seagulls finished the regular season by winning five of their final six games; with Luscher playing quarterback. Everett entered the Northwest District Tournament as the #3 seed. The Gulls lost in the first round to Monroe 37-28, before defeating Ferndale 51-7 in loser’s bracket game.   Our parade of state champions continues on this week's edition of Prep Sports Weekly for Monday, March 30, 2026. We start with the 4-time state champion wrestler, Arlington's Tre Haines, along with his head coach Jonny Gilbertson and parents Dean and Jane Haines. Then it's the state champion wrestler from Everett Mia Cienega along with her head Jordain Harrop; and mom Lindsey Cienega and younger sister Vida. Finally, 3/4 of the 4A state champion 200 free-style relay team from Kamiak, Ryan Jackson, Kaiden Nguyen and Lucas Chai, along with head coach Chris Erickson.  

KRKO Russell and Hill Male Student Athlete-December 2025-Reed Nagel-Glacier Peak Boys Basketball

An outstanding senior season was the culmination of an outstanding high school career for Reed Nagel. By the end of the 2026 4A State Basketball Tournament, Nagel had started 12 games at the Tacoma Dome; and his Glacier Peak teams finished third, third and sixth place over those three years. The senior point guard averaged 16 points (hitting 46% on three-point shooting and 55% on two-point field goals). He also averaged five rebounds and 6.5 assists in his senior campaign. KRKO Russell and Hill Female Student Athlete-December 2025-Finley Houck-Shorewood Stormrays Wrestling

Houck capped off her senior wrestling season with a 115-pound 3A state championship at the 2026 Mat Classic in the Tacoma Dome. With many championships along the way, most impressive was her win at the Braided 64 Tournament at Kelso High School; defeating wrestlers from 103 schools. She ended her senior year at 49-8. Finley was a four-time state placer with 2nd Place (110) in 2025; 3rd (110) in 2024 and 5th (105) in 2023. She was also a four-time district champion.
