Aaliyah Collins leaves Glacier Peak High School having left her mark on three sports: basketball, soccer and track & field; and for that, she has been named the KRKO Radio Russell & Hill Female Athlete of the Year for 2021. She will continue her athletic pursuits at Chicago State University. Truly one of the finest all-around athletes to ever come from Snohomish County, Marysville Getchell’s Malakhi Knight could have chosen from two sports to play at the collegiate level; and although he excelled at basketball, his first love is baseball and he will continue his career at UCLA. Knight has been selected as the KRKO Radio Russell & Hill Male Athlete of the Year for 2021. KRKO Russell and Hill Female Athlete of the Year 2020: Kiley Hubby

Congratulations to our KRKO Radio Russell & Hill Female Athlete of the Year 2020 Lake Stevens wrestler Kiley Hubby. Kiley won her second career wrestling state championship when she pinned her opponent in the 2nd round of the 170 lb title match in the Tacoma Dome in February. She also won a 145 lb state championship as a sophomore in 2018. She also has a second place finish (2019) and a third place finish (2017) during her state career. The first edition of Prep Sports Weekly for the 2021-22 school year. Let's hope it's a little closer to normal than last year! We hear from two winning head coaches: Davis Lura of Marysville Getchell; the Chargers picked up a 27-7 victory over the Meadowdale Mavericks on Friday night; and from Brien Elliott of Everett; the Seagulls notched a 59-7 win over Bellingham. Our winning quarterback is Trent Nobach of Arlington; he led the Eagles with 4 touchdown passes in a 35-7 win over Edmonds-Woodway on Friday night.

Mariner Marauders Boys Basketball Head Coach Tevin Dillon was on the opening segment. The Marauders are undefeated after seven games this season, including a 64-36 win over Glacier Peak on Thursday night.
