EVERETT — Homecoming today for the crew of Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Gridley (DDG 101) returning to Naval Station Everett, following a seven-month deployment to the 4th Fleet area of operation.
During the deployment, Gridley supported Southern Seas 2026 and conducted maritime security operations in the U.S. 4th Fleet area of operations, according to Naval Station Everett officials. The destroyer and its Sailors participated in bilateral engagements with regional partners to strengthen maritime partnerships, enhance proficiency, and improve interoperability.

Gridley’s Sailors demonstrated professionalism, resilience, and teamwork throughout sustained operations at sea, the Navy said in a written release. The homecoming will recognize their accomplishments and reunite the crew with families and loved ones.
Cmdr. Magdalena Keel is commanding officer of USS Gridley. The total crew ranges from 320 to 380 personnel including roughly 30+ officers. Gridley accommodates a dedicated aviation detachment supporting onboard helicopters. Gridley’s range is 4400 nautical miles while cruising at 20 knots but can reach speeds exceeding 30 knots.
Gridley is expected to dock at Everett around 10 a.m. after returning to homeport after its last stop in the deployment in San Diego.
