KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete of the Month-November 2024-Jayshon Limar-Lake Stevens Football

Congratulations to our KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete of the Month for November 2024; from the Lake Stevens High School Football Team, senior running back Jayshon Limar. Lake Stevens won their 10th straight Wesco 4A title this past season (and went undefeated in league play during that time) and the Vikings made it all the way to the state quarterfinals. Limar was also a member of the Lake Stevens back-to-back state champion teams in 2022 and 2023, his sophomore and junior seasons. High School Boys Basketball-Glacier Peak vs Gonzaga Prep-State Semi-Finals 3-7-25

Gonzaga Prep defeated Glacier Peak 62-50 and advanced to the state championship game. Glacier Peak finished in third place for the second straight year.

It’s State Basketball Tournament Time!

Some consider it the best time on the sports calendar. While it’s “March Madness” in the collegiate ranks; there’s just as much “madness” on the hardwood at the high school level. This week starts the 2025 Boys & Girls State Basketball Tournament in the State of Washington. 48 teams will take to the court in three separate venues across the state. The big schools (4A & 3A) head to the Tacoma Dome; the medium-sized schools (2A & 1A) will meet at the Yakima County Sundome; the smaller schools (2B & 1B) take to the court at the Spokane Arena.... Complete Game Broadcast: The 2025 Class 3A Boys Basketball State Tournament Regional Round: The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors meet the Bellevue Wolverines; Saturday, March 1, 2025, live from the Bellevue College Gymnasium. KRKO Marysville Toyota Player of the Game was Cameron Hiatt, he scored 37 points to lead the Warriors to a 66-56 overtime victory. Edmonds-Woodway advances to the quarterfinal round of the state tournament at the Tacoma Dome next week.
