KRKO Marysville Toyota Players of the Game were Lake Stevens' Keira Tupua (29 points) on the girls' side and Glacier Peak's Reed Nagel (11 points) on the boys' side. GIRLS FINAL: Lake Stevens 71, Glacier Peak 63. BOYS FINAL: Glacier Peak 73, Lake Stevens 46.

Prep Sports Weekly for Monday, December 16, 2024. We meet the back-to-back state champion divers: From Glacier Peak it's Addison Farman and from Archbishop Murphy it's Samantha Mandeville. Then it's 3/4s of the Jackson 200 freestyle relay swim team with Olivia Hoyla, Megan Wang and Elissa Anderson; they finished 2nd at state, while the Timberwolves took third as a team. Finally, we catch up with the head football coach at Anacortes, Justin Portz; the Seahawks won their second consecutive state 2A championship early this month with a 20-10 win over Tumwater.

KRKO Marysville Toyota Player of the Game was Chargers' forward Zach Rice who score 22 points, 19 in the first half, in leading Getchell to the 77-28 win.

We start with the new head coach of the Cascade boys basketball team Chris Gordon; he gives us a preview of the upcoming season for the Bruins. Then it's the new head coach of the Jackson Timberwolves girls basketball team Andrew Grinaker; he's joined by players Callie Wirkkala, Mackenzie Pepin, Sophia Giordano and Makena Devine.

From Arlington High School, the second place finisher was sophomore Ramon Little and from Cascade High School, the three-time state champion Jacob Hopkins. Plus their head coaches Steve Landro of Cascade and Jon Murray of Arlington. Then it's the brand new head boys basketball coach at Mountlake Terrace High School Johnny Phillips. Finally, we preview all six state championship football games for the upcoming weekend at Husky Stadium with Todd Milles of Scorebook Live.    

High School Football: Arlington at Camas 11-23-24

Complete broadcast of the Class 4A Football Quarterfinal game between the Arlington Eagles and the Camas Papermakers; live from Doc Harris Stadium in Camas, Washington. Saturday, November 23, 2024 with Tom Lafferty, Joel Vincent and Tynan Vincent on the call. The Eagles were able to pull to within one score late in the game before the Papermakers were able to win the game 35-21 to advance to the semi-finals. Arlington ends their season at 10-2.

Then it's the head coach of the last remaining Snohomish County football team left on the bracket: Joe Cronin of the Archbishop Murphy Wildcats.

Finally, the 4A Semi-Final-bound Lake Stevens girls soccer team with coach Sam Ford and players Charli Pugmire and Olivia Fast.

High School Football: Graham-Kapowsin at Arlington 11-16-24

The Class 4A WIAA Football Regional Playoff Game; Graham-Kapowsin Eagles at Arlington Eagles; Saturday, November 16, 2024; Tom Lafferty, Joel Vincent and Steve Willits on the call. KRKO Marysville Toyota Player of the Game was senior linebacker Alex Cunningham who had multiple tackles for the Arlington defense that held the usually high-flying Graham-Kapowsin offense to just 6 points. Final Score: Arlington 42, Graham-Kapowsin 6. Arlington advances to the quarterfinal round and a trip to Camas next week. OF NOTE: Alex Cunningham is also the Eagles' long-snapper and caught a two-point conversion on a "swinging gate" trick play.
