Ramon Little Wins Three National Titles

An update on our KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete of the Month for October 2024; ambulatory cross country runner Ramon Little of Arlington High School. Ramon finished second place at the 2024 State Cross Country Meet Ambulatory Race in the fall. We noted at the time that Ramon competed on a conventional lower leg prosthetic during the state meet; but had begun a series of fittings for a new cross-country running blade. KRKO Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete of the Month-May 2025-Ava Enriquez-Shorewood High School Track & Field

Our KRKO Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete of the Month for May 2025 is Ava Enriquez of the Shorewood High School Track & Field team. Ava recently won the Class 3A State Championship in the Pole Vault at the State 2A/3A/4A Track Meet at Mount Tahoma Stadium in Tacoma with a jump of 12’6”; one full foot higher than second place. Enriquez also won the event at the Oregon Relays and was named an All-American at the Nike Indoor Nationals held at The Armory in New York City. KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete of the Month-May 2025-Erick Diaz-Granite Falls High School Track & Field

Congratulations to our KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete of the Month for May 2025; senior Erick Diaz from the Granite Falls High School Track & Field team. After finishing 8th in 2024; Diaz recently won the Class 1A Pole Vault State Championship at the State A/B Track Meet at Zaepfel Stadium in Yakima with a jump of 14’3”; a full 3 inches higher than second place. KRKO Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete of the Month-April 2025-Allie Thomsen-Jackson High School Softball

Congratulations to our KRKO Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete of the Month for April 2025; senior Allie Thomsen from the Jackson High School Softball team. Allie was a member of two straight state championship teams, 2023 and 2024, but really got her chance to shine when she got to her senior year; hitting a robust .544; with an on-base percentage of .651 and slugging .949. She hit 6 homeruns and had 26 RBI; leading the supposedly rebuilding Timberwolves team to the State 4A Semi-Finals where they lost to eventual state champions Skyview 2-0. Jackson took third place. Our KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete of the Month for April 2025 is junior Jeshua Singletary of the King’s High School Track & Field team. Singletary recently won the Class 1A State 100-meter Dash Championship with a time of 10.81 (His personal best is 10.54). He finished second in the 200. Our KRKO Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete of the Month for March 2025 is senior Saide Dorr of Cascade High School. Saide’s list of accomplishments is as varied as it is lengthy. On the athletics side, she played soccer, basketball and ran track & field (captain) for the Bruins all four years of high school. Academically, Dorr carried a 4.0 GPA while taking all Advance Placement courses; she was an outstanding student award winner from both the English and Spanish language departments. Torsten returned to Snohomish High School after the State Swim & Dive Meet at the Weyerhaueser King County Aquatic Center with three state 3A championships. Our KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete of the Month for February 2025 is senior wrestler for the Glacier Peak Grizzlies Wrestling team, Connor Aney. A four-year state finalist at the Mat Classic Wrestling Meet at the Tacoma Dome; Connor won three-straight 285-pound 4A titles. He finished his senior year at 32-2 overall. Aney has been named a USA All-American two times in wrestling at the USA Tournament, held in Fargo ND. This year he was also an All-State Offensive Lineman for the Grizzlies football team. Congratulations to our KRKO Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete of the Month for February 2025; from the King’s High School Girls Track & Field Team, junior Kim Beard. Already a two-time 1A state champion in the discus; this year she threw 152’ 5” at the state track meet in Yakima. Kim also competes in the shot put (2nd) and javelin (7th). She is also state champion in the non-WIAA sanctioned hammer throw.
