High School Football: Graham-Kapowsin at Arlington 11-16-24

The Class 4A WIAA Football Regional Playoff Game; Graham-Kapowsin Eagles at Arlington Eagles; Saturday, November 16, 2024; Tom Lafferty, Joel Vincent and Steve Willits on the call. KRKO Marysville Toyota Player of the Game was senior linebacker Alex Cunningham who had multiple tackles for the Arlington defense that held the usually high-flying Graham-Kapowsin offense to just 6 points. Final Score: Arlington 42, Graham-Kapowsin 6. Arlington advances to the quarterfinal round and a trip to Camas next week. OF NOTE: Alex Cunningham is also the Eagles' long-snapper and caught a two-point conversion on a "swinging gate" trick play.

Complete game broadcast. Saturday, November 2, 2024. The Class 4A District Football Playoffs Round of 32 between the Arlington Eagles and the North Creek Jaguars, live from John C. Larson Stadium in Arlington. Tom Lafferty, Joel Vincent and Steve Willits on the call. The KRKO Marysville Toyota Player of the Game was Arlington running back Caleb Reed with 25 carries for 310 yards and 4 touchdowns. Arlington defeated North Creek 56-35 to advance to the Regionals Round of 16.  

KRKO Russell and Hill Female Student Athlete of the Month-September 2024-Selena Bangerter-Jackson Cross Country

Our KRKO Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete of the Month for September 2024 is senior cross country runner Selena Bangerter of Jackson High School. Selena won the Western Conference 4A Championship for the third straight year with a time of 18:51 (5000 meters). She went to Orange County, California on September 21st and finished 3rd in her group with a three-mile time of 16:45 at the 43rd Annual Woodbridge Cross Country Classic. KRKO Russell and Hill Male Student Athlete of the Month-September 2024-Ben Lee-Jackson Tennis

Congratulations to our KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete of the Month for September 2024; from the Jackson High School Boys Tennis Team senior Ben Lee. Ben won the NW District Boys Championship for the 4th consecutive year and will compete at the 4A State Tennis Tournament in the spring. He lost the state championship last year as a junior but won the title as a sophomore after finishing 5th in state in 9th grade. We begin with the Jackson boys tennis team with head coach David Hutt and players Ashton Berg, Davis Song, Andy Stark, and our male athlete of the month Ben Lee. Then our female athlete is Jackson cross-country runner Selena Bangerter, and her head coach Eric Hruschka. Finally, we catch up with Shorecrest head football coach Brandon Christensen heading into the Wesco 3A cross-over seeding games on Friday night.    

High School Football: Cascade vs. Everett 10-25-24

The 2024 Edition of the "Battle For Broadway" between the Everett Seagulls and the Cascade Bruins; live from Everett Memorial Stadium; Friday, October 24, 2024 with Tom Lafferty, Joel Vincent and Ted Buehner on the call. Our KRKO Marysville Toyota Player of the Game was Cascade Wide Receiver/Defensive Back Andi Cosme; he finished the game with 4 carries for 43 yards and 1 touchdowns; 4 pass receptions for 108 yards and 2 touchdowns (52 & 48) and 2 interceptions, including a 102 yard "pick six" to end the first half. Final Score: Cascade 47, Everett 7.
