KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete of the Month-February 2025-Connor Aney-Glacier Peak Wrestling

Our KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete of the Month for February 2025 is senior wrestler for the Glacier Peak Grizzlies Wrestling team, Connor Aney. A four-year state finalist at the Mat Classic Wrestling Meet at the Tacoma Dome; Connor won three-straight 285-pound 4A titles. He finished his senior year at 32-2 overall. Aney has been named a USA All-American two times in wrestling at the USA Tournament, held in Fargo ND. This year he was also an All-State Offensive Lineman for the Grizzlies football team. KRKO Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete of the Month-February 2025-Kim Beard-King’s High School Track & Field

Congratulations to our KRKO Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete of the Month for February 2025; from the King’s High School Girls Track & Field Team, junior Kim Beard. Already a two-time 1A state champion in the discus; this year she threw 152’ 5” at the state track meet in Yakima. Kim also competes in the shot put (2nd) and javelin (7th). She is also state champion in the non-WIAA sanctioned hammer throw. Congratulations to our KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete of the Month for January 2025; from the Arlington High School Boys Wrestling Team, senior Tre Haines. Tre ended his junior season at Arlington with a 51-0 record and a third straight state championship at 157 pounds at the 2025 Mat Classic at the Tacoma Dome. He has the distinction of winning two titles in Class 3A; and then moving up one classification to 4A this year. Our KRKO Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete of the Month for January 2025 is senior wrestler for the Shorewood Stormrays Girls Wrestling  team, Elisabeth (Libby) Norton. A four-year state participant at the Mat Classic Wrestling Meet; Libby finished third place in 2024, and in 2025 won the State 3A 105 pound championship. She ended the season with a 41-5 record after storming through the Tacoma Dome championship bracket with five straight pins. Norton will pursue wrestling at the collegiate level and will attend Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa in the fall. She will graduate from Shorewood... Read More.

Congratulations to our KRKO Russell & Hill Female Student Athlete of the Month for December 2024; from the Edmonds-Woodway High School Girls Wrestling Team, senior Hannah Baldock. After starting her wrestling career as a sophomore, Hannah finished sixth in state as a junior, and this year captured the Class 3A 120 pound state championship at the 2025 Mat Classic at the Tacoma Dome. She finished the season with a 42-5 record, and recorded Dome wins over wrestlers from Kennewick (Fall); Thomas Jefferson (Tech Fall), Shelton (Fall) and notched a Major Decision victory over her opponent from White River. Our KRKO Russell & Hill Male Student Athlete of the Month for December 2024 is senior guard for the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors Boys Basketball team, Cameron Hiatt. Cam led the Warriors to the 2024-25 State 3A Boys State Championship game. After starting his high school career at King’s High School, Hiatt spent his junior year at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio, before returning “home” to Edmonds-Woodway for his senior season.
